    Not always. Every 6 hours is a fixed interval from the first dose, even at night; “4 times a day” can usually be spread over waking hours with meals. Ask your pharmacist if unsure.

    Antibiotics every 6 hours

    Antibiotics are among the medicines where a fixed interval matters. Pick a first dose that keeps the others in waking hours where possible, e.g. 7:00 AM, 1:00 PM, 7:00 PM, 1:00 AM, and finish the course your doctor prescribed.

    What if I miss a dose?
